16/06/2020. Wow, what a year! Drought for previous 3 yrs, bushfires with smoke hanging in the air day after day, then if the wind changed and got rid of the smoke, dust storms blew in to replace the smoke. And then came the Corona Virus. So, half way through 2020 and I have been able to teach with restricted numbers for about a month now. It is great to get back to it and catch up with yogic friends after a 2+ month isolation. There has been a lot of suffering out there and I hope we never see the likes of it again.
20/01/2020 Be on the lookout for workshops this year. I am developing several different workshops and training packages. I will endeavour to have all of them ready by Q2 2020. Still off the coffee (reference to post below). Another post reference to the one dated 21/01/2019 - While I did have a really good year of Yoga, 2019 was a really tough year for life. It was the driest year I have ever experienced and those drought conditions were capped off by severe bushfires towards the end of the year. Many of the people who attend my classes are primary producers or associated businesses and the combined conditions were extremely stressful for them. It is my fervent hope that 2020 is a better year 06/08/2019 Off the coffee for 3 weeks now. Feeling like new, much more alert, brain fog lifted, energy and good humour returned. That has to be a win. 21/1/2019 First class back today for 2019. Think your fit and flexible? Give one of these a go. Next one scheduled for early spring 2018. Tip: build up you practice slowly, don't just try and do 108 straight up (unless you are a machine). 18/2/18 The hot, hot weather drags on without a rain break. Bit like living in the desert... my observation is that people are pushed to the limit, particularly those involved in rural pursuits. No water, no feed and falling prices. A real trifecta. All my positive energy goes to those suffering. 31/8/17 September class calendar is posted. The holidays are over. Its time to get the focus back on to looking after ourselves so that we can have an exciting 2016, not a year where we are constantly sick or stressed. Yoga makes the body strong to give us energy and ward off illness. It also provides the tools to calm the mind, sharpen our concentration and ability to make decisions. 20th December 2015 On the road to Tilba for a nice holiday with my new(ish) grandson Otto West. This will be only the third time I have seen him and I can't wait -"this is how you do a down dog Otto" Namaste. 14th December 2015 Last week of classes for the year. One of the things that I came away from the Byron course was "gratitude". I already knew from my yoga studies that we should be grateful for things in our life (and I was) but I didn't know how to integrate it into daily living. It's really simple. I have incorporated it into my classes, before I go to sleep at night and when I wake up. A few seconds to reflect on what is truly important to you and that you can be grateful for. Try it, for something so simple it really is quite powerful, adding to your general sense of well being.. 30th November 2015 Back in the "real" world after an eight day meditation and philosophy retreat with Swami Pujan. I learn't a lot and despite working hard both mentally and physically I am feeling reinvigorated and ready for action on the mat (I learn't some really good tricks during our morning "hour of power" yoga sessions so be ready for those). Namaste to you all. 9th November 2015 Ran the first class for advanced practitioners today. It was great to move the pace up a few notches. Everyone worked hard and challenged themselves which of course is the basis of of any yoga practice 23rd October 2015 I love the energy that comes from a yoga class. Don't underestimate the power of positive energy. Steer clear of negative energy 21st October 2015 That wonderful yoga teacher Tess Hynes is returning to Scone to conduct a 2 hour restorative yoga class on the Friday evening, 30th October 2015.
